The Role of the Clinical Trials Unit
The Unit offers a dedicated and professional service to all Investigators interested in clinical trials. The Clinical Trials Unit employs two full time and two part time Research Nurses I Study Co-ordinators and a Clinical Trials Administrator.

What Can The Clinical Trial Unit Offer?
1. Clinical Trial Unit staff can assist with administrative aspects of study set -up i.e. feasibility, costing of study procedures, LREC and R&D approval.
2. The Department can provide support with the identification of patients, recruitment planning and other aspects of nursing support.
3. The Investigator will retain overall responsibility for the trial and use the clinical trial staff to provide either fully or partial support during study progress.
4. The Clinical Trials Unit can also provide nursing resource for academic trials.
