Diabetes Local Research Network

The North West Diabetes Local Research Network is a multidisciplinary group that supports diabetes research across the region. Currently, it supports staff to carry out diabetes research at a number of NHS organisations across the region.

Led by Dr Martin Gibson, consultant diabetologist, the network works with hospital consultants, GP’s, research nurses and other specialist research staff at sites in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Lancashire.

It works collaboratively with a number of partner organisations, including: The University of Manchester’s Institute of Health Sciences; and the North West Diabetes and Obesity Research Network (DORN).

The Network’s overall aim is to increase high quality research into diabetes across both primary and secondary care.
