R&D Strategic Committee
NHS SalfoR+D Strategic Committee for Research and Development
The NHS SalfoR+D Board needs a Strategic Committee for Research and Development, composed of research-active individuals from both constituent NHS Trusts. This Committee will report to the NHS SalfoR+D Board and will have the remit to:-
- contribute to and implement an NHS SalfoR+D research and develop mentstrategy
- ensure that R&D findings are translated into improved clinical and public health practice
- help co-ordinate and integrate R&D across the NHS in Salford
- raise the profile of NHS SalfoR+D locally, nationally and internationally
- identify and form linkages with other research based organisations
- play an active role in the development of the Manchester Academic Health Sciences Centre
- enhance opportunities for undertaking R&D within the NHS
- identify and bring to the attention of the NHS SalfoR+D Board issues concerning research and development
The roles and expectations of the Members are to:-
- act as a champion for R&D
- act as the conduit for communication of R&D issues
- promote R&D as a major activity
- ensure that R&D is an important part of Directorate Business Plan
